This ultralight weight Epee barrel is made from solid Titanium meaning the weight is reduced by 48% to just 2.3g. A weight saving of only a few grams doesn't sound like much but it makes a stunning difference to the performance of a blade.
Kit includes: Tip, Titanium barrel, pressure spring, two grub screws and blade wire. Fusing British manufacture with German design to give you the best Epee point possible. The latest design for our contact spring now features the same tightly wound "one way" spring that is found in German style Epee points. This means the spring can only be wound onto the thread and cannot be unwound in use. This innovation eliminates this problem of the spring moving up on the thread leading to the point failing the gauge test and prevents the need to stretch the spring.
A host of improvements have also been made to these points to make them silky smooth. Burnished surface on the inside of the barrel to give an almost mirror like finish and the sliding surface of the point is now ground in a separate operation rather than cut on a standard lathe making it feel even smoother. The top lip of the barrel has been given a large lead in radius making the surface of the point and barrel meet over a larger area which helps with it to glide during angled hits. Finally the slots for the grub screws have been chamfered inside and out so that they do not touch the bearing surface of the point and cause scratching.
Improvements include: One way "German style" contact spring V Hardened stainless steel for ultimate durability and corrosion resistance. A Shallower counter bore and longer thread on the barrel to improve compatibility with other manufacturers blades. A Chamfered dead stop in the barrel designed to give a positive surface for the blade to butt up against and to make it easier to feed your wires through and less likely to rub on the wires causing a short.
