DESCRIPTION
The first Z-Pro blade was designed to be as light as possible to give speed and control. This was achieved mainly by thinning the tip of the blade. We wanted to create something that performed like the Z-Pro but lasted much longer. To achieve this the Leon Paul design team travelled to France to meet with Blaise Frere (BF) who are one of the most respected and skilled forges in the world. BF have been producing the highest quality blades for many years and now specialise in making FIE blades from Maraging steel. Traditional Maraging Sabre blade have lasted well but been too heavy and too stiff so we began work with them to make the first truly great Maraging sabre blade.
Ed Korfanty: "The original non Maraging Z-Pro had great flexibility and weight and was the best blade on market. However; now compared the Maraging blade we can see it gets out of shape more easily than the Maraging style."
By using Maraging steel we have managed to keep the same feel of the Z-Pro but greatly increase the life of the blade and allow it to keep its shape for longer.
